Hi There!

Hello everyone, my name is Jagroop (Jay) and I am your northern California photographer at J Dhillon Photography. I photograph all portrait styles which include: maternity, newborn, family, kids, and couples photography. I found my love for photography back in 2010 when I was in college and I haven't put the camera down since. But honestly speaking I have been into it as a hobby since I was a kid. Sometimes when my parents would leave us home alone and I'd be the "babysitter" being the oldest child, I would put together photoshoots and video shoots and have my younger siblings be my models. So I guess I have always been a photographer.

Anywhooo, to gain real life experience, I worked at studios, with other photographers, and conducted many portrait shoots of my own. It was wonderful learning from other photographers in the industry and I can't be more thankful for my past experiences.

Fast-forward to today I'm not only a photographer but also a mom of two wonderful little boys who have become a huge inspiration for my work. This new chapter of my life has helped me understand even more so how valuable portrait photography really is! My work as more than just art or pretty pictures, because I know now that timeless portraits with loved ones are a tangible media that lasts generations and is cherished so deeply - especially among moms and grandmas.

As a parent, I have learned that time is one of the most valuable things in our life and because of that I take so much joy in freezing time for my clients in the most beautiful of ways, by creating perfect moments that I can capture with my camera.

Overall, my goal as your photographer is to capture gently guided but completely authentic emotions in my photography and provide a product that will be loved and shared among family and friends for years and years to come.
