Santa Cruz Slugs
Are banana slugs a funny mascot? I thought so but there is a meaning behind why the banana slug was chosen as the UC Santa Cruz mascot. According to some research I conducted the school adopted this mascot as a commentary on the overemphasis of athletics at many universities. I guess I don't really ever hear sports when I think of UC Santa Cruz but they sure do like to spread the campus out over rolling hill's making it workout for any student to get around! Not kidding - that campus is not an easy breezy walk unless you have lot's of time before and after class to get around.
Anyways I did enjoy my stroll through the campus woods while I photographed my gorgeous and happy senior grad Jasdip. It was beautiful and peaceful, making for some great senior portraits.
Shark Fin Cove
After some senior portraits on campus Jasdeep, some friends, and I made our way over to Shark Fin Cove beach to capture some memorable photos by the coast; a place Jasdip enjoyed visiting and wanted to capture in her senior portraits before moving out of town to start the next chapter of her life. This location was beautiful to say the least and watching the sunset by the coast was the perfect way to end this senior photoshoot.
